About Cub

A storm is coming and the waters are rising. What will happen to the home where Kit, Mum and Nai Nai live? What about the fox and her cubs?

Climb inside our den for an exciting story about how big our families really are.

Cub is a audio story and den installation co-created with children from Cottesmore Academy, inspired by the themes of Seedling, and is designed for children aged 7-12.

Younger children may enjoy Cub, though it may be a bit scary when the flood happens and there might be some bits that need explaining. If you would like to check the contents of Cub to gauge if it’s suitable for your children, please download our Parent Explainer document here.

We were delighted to work with Years 3 and 4 at Cottesmore Academy, Rutland. The classes collaborated with our returning creatives Helen Crevel, Anne Langford, Ruth Stringer and Alice Boyd to create something new inspired by the themes of Seedling.

The two audio pieces are being shared in pop-up installations in Northampton (5 - 14 April 2024) and Oakham (24 May - 2 June 2024) alongside our Patches of Home textile creations made by local people in the weeks leading into the installations inspired by the family’s heritage. Alongside the audio story and den, there are various nature and fox themed activities to enjoy.

Cub will then tour into schools throughout 2024-25. If you would like to find out more about it visiting your school, please email Courtenay.
