Sensory Sounds In Nature: Inclusive Families (Kettering)

  • Learning Space, Wicksteed Park Barton Road Kettering, NN15 6NJ UK (map)

My Sensory Adventures sessions are for the whole family and are wonderful for children who like to explore the world in sensory ways. The sensory activities are great for lots of different people including babies/early years, children with special educational needs, people with complex needs, children with profound and multiple learning disabilities, and autistic children.

Sounds in Nature

In this series, we'll be bringing the outside in and co-creating exciting new work with composers. We'll be creating new musical pieces together through the sensory exploration of nature's sounds, smells, textures, sights and feelings.

Sessions are free, with donations welcome πŸ’•

There are two drop-in sessions for families in Kettering to attend. Book here for the 10am sessions on the 21st and 28th of August. These sessions will be led by Grace, a creative artist and musician based in Leicestershire. Join us to get creative, build confidence, and have a really rewarding experience in a lovely welcoming environment.

Saturday 21st August & Saturday 28th August, 10-11am at Wicksteed Park

We are thrilled to be running these sessions in partnership with Wicksteed Park. The session will be in the Learning Space behind the ice cream parlour.

Please book 1 space as a family and/or bubble - we are keeping all stations separate and distanced so have space for 10 families per session so please do book in advance. Please let us know who is coming and what their needs might be - any information to make sure we can create the best environment for everyone to enjoy and feel comfortable.

Carbon Theatre

We are a Kettering-based company creating theatre and cultural projects. We started My Sensory Adventures throughout the 2020 lockdown to provide local families with free sensory packs and lots of digital resources.

Our first four themes were Water, Earth, Wind and Fire (you can see them by clicking here) and over the summer we are exploring Maps through Contours, Symbols, Direction and Scale. All our activities have Messy & Taste-Safe and Non-Messy options to suit different sensory preferences.

We are delighted to be doing in-person sessions again. We hope you'll come and explore with us!
