Mothers Who Make is a growing national initiative aimed at supporting mothers who are artists.

Every kind of maker is welcome- professional and/or passionate – writers, painters, performers, producers, musicians, bakers, crafters, architects, historians ….

Every kind of mother is welcome- biological, adoptive, step, surrogate, foster, grand, great grand, to be ….

the northamptonshire hub

I am delighted to be starting a hub in Northamptonshire with Jo Blake, a local storyteller, dancer and mum. We supported by the Avon Fund (Northamptonshire Community Foundation), Royal & Derngate and The Core at Corby Cube.

Please sign up to our MWM hub mailing list and join our hub Facebook group to get the latest updates and news of our upcoming meetings.

join us

Join our Facebook group to always have the community at your fingertips - I’ve found groups a great resource to ask quick questions, ask opinions on a new logo or idea, or even to arrange support for a launch and/or event! It’s a great way of staying in touch with other members between meetings or if you miss one or two! Of course, the group is completely free to join. Please let us know if you are not on Facebook and we can make sure you stay involved with anything that goes on in the group.

our meetings

Every month, across the UK, France and Australia a brilliant group of artists who are mothers, come together for a few hours in a local arts-related venue, in a space created for them to talk, share connect and reflect on their dual roles of mother and maker.

Our peer-support meetings are a simple but powerful talking circle, welcoming every kind of mother, whether biological, adoptive, bereaved, step, surrogate, foster, grand, great grand mothers, or mothers to be ….  Every kind of maker is welcome too - professional and/or passionate – writers, painters, performers, producers, photographers, musicians, bakers, crafters, architects, historians ….

We offer adult centred space, to nurture and nourish creative identity, where children are welcome. Where mother makers are able to be visible and supported in their dual roles.

All our meetings are Pay What You Can - meaning you can donate any amount you’d like to or are able to whilst also meaning that the session can be free if you can’t afford to pay to attend. If you can donate to help us keep the hub going please do!
