About the project
We are developing a new play, Ripe by Leanne Davis, that was first drafted a few years ago. The play centres around a romance between Laura, who finds out she’s unexpectedly pregnant by her ex, and James, her old friend from University.
The project contains a period of script development working (Leanne working with David Lane as dramaturg) before a day read through with two actors (Director will be welcome to attend as an introduction to the team and the play). There is more writing time and then a 2-week development period in a studio space at Nottingham Playhouse.
We will also be working with a group of pregnant women / new parents and an illustrator to share an extract of the play and create a series of illustrations based on their experiences, details TBC.
