The Role
Fee: £2,800 plus travel expenses (must be based a commutable distance from Bedford, London, Cambridge & Colchester)
Rehearsal dates: 2-6 September 2024 at The Place Bedford & 9-13 September 2024 at Greenwich Theatre
Presentation dates: 13 September 2024 at Greenwich Theatre, on 6, 14 & 19 November 2024 at Colchester Arts Centre, Cambridge Junction & The Place, Bedford.
We are looking for a Technical Stage Manager to work closely with Adie Mueller (www.adiemueller.com) on ANOTHER GOODBYE, a new live theatrical adaptation of an original audio drama, with a post-performance conversation experience for audiences.
ANOTHER GOODBYE explores end-of-life death, loss and grief. The show is based on Adie’s very ‘ordinary’ experience of her mother’s end-of-life death, starting with her mum’s decision to give up intensive medical treatment & go into palliative care & ending a year later with her dad’s decision to sell the family home.
We are looking for someone to lead on programming the sound and photo projections into QLab and programming basic lighting to compliment the project images, alongside stage management responsibilities. The creative team consists of a Designer, Sound Designer, Director and Adie as Lead Artist: Performer & Author.
Key responsibilities:
Manage Stage Management duties in rehearsal and on tour, with production support from the Performer and Producer.
Creation and maintenance of the Book, Team Contacts List, Rehearsal Notes, Daily Calls, Schedules, Show Reports and other rehearsal and production paperwork as needed supported by the Producer
Liaise with the creative team about the set design, equipment and technical requirements, supported by the Producer.
Running rehearsals in collaboration with the Director
Programming and preparing QLab with sound design and image files, supporting the design team
Programming basic lighting
Running technical rehearsals in collaboration with the Director
Manage the get-ins and liaise with venue staff at each venue
Liaising with the Theatre Manager and Front of House teams
We would love to work with someone who:
Is a confident programmer and technician
Is friendly, approachable and collaborative
Is very organised and has good attentive to detail
Is able to be proactive in problem solving on tour
